The Nigerian singer Wizkid is the first representative of the Afrobeats genre to serve as the festival's headlining act.

Rema is the first afrobeats artist to perform on the Rolling Loud stage, as we previously reported, but Wizkid is the first to open the biggest hip-hop festival in the world.

It was also reported that Wizkid was paid $1 million for the show.
