Wizkid has achieved yet another triumph by becoming the first musician from Nigeria to receive a diamond certification in the country.
This feat was achieved through his collaboration with international artist Drake on their song “One Dance."
One Dance was released in the year 2016, and it marked Wizkid‘s first collaboration with Canadian artist Drake.
By having a Dimond certification, it means that the song has sold 10 million units in the United States.
This information was released via the official Twitter page for chart data.
It will be recalled that Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, was recently in the news for declaring his alleged singlehood and dissing Nigerian rappers after he recently called rap “dead and boring." The singer may have ruffled a couple of feathers, as a number of Nigerian rap artists got agitated.
It reads:
@wizkidayo becomes the first Nigerian artist with a diamond single in the US.
