The most popular Afrobeats song right now, "Buga," by Nigerian artists Kizz Daniel and Tekno, has achieved yet another incredible feat by amassing over 100 million streams on Boomplay, becoming the first song to do so on the streaming service.
Following Kizz Daniel's recent milestone achievement as the top streamed artist on Boomplay, this announcement was made.
Originally released on May 4, 2022, “Buga” talks about money, motivation, and jamboree and was an instant hit upon release. The song quickly rose to the top of the global Shazam chart. According to reports, Buga received 1 million streams on Boomplay in the first 24 hours of its release and reached its peak in nations like Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Togo, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Benin, and Sierra Leone.
