Kenya's police boss Joseph Boinne briefed the press about the attack at the DusitD2 hotel in the capital, Nairobi. He said armed assailants attacked the hotel and were still inside the building.

At the gathering of this news security officers are in the building and people are being screened and evacuated.

Report has it that one person is dead and four injured during the attack also, militant group Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack through their media outlet which gave details how the attack was carried out.
