Juan Vicente Perez Mora, known affectionately as Tio Vicente, was born on May 27, 1909, in El Cobre, a town nestled in the Andean state of Tachira, Venezuela.

His extraordinary journey began at a young age, as he started working alongside his father and siblings in agriculture, contributing to sugar cane and coffee harvesting by the tender age of five.

Throughout his long and eventful life, Perez wore many hats. Besides his agricultural pursuits, he served as a sheriff, adeptly resolving land and family disputes in his community. As of 2022, he leaves behind a legacy of love and family, being a proud father of 11, with 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Guinness World Records officially recognized Perez as the oldest living man on February 4, 2022, when he was 112 years and 253 days old, a testament to his remarkable longevity and resilience. Despite his advanced age, Perez remained an integral part of his community, embodying strength, wisdom, and a profound connection to the land.

Today, as we bid farewell to a true legend, let us honor Juan Vicente Perez Mora's life, celebrating his indomitable spirit and the enduring impact he has left on generations to come. Though he may have transcended into eternity, his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
