In a dazzling spectacle held in Mumbai, India's financial and entertainment capital, Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic emerged triumphant as she was crowned Miss World on Saturday night.
The glamorous competition featured 112 contestants from around the world, with Pyszková surpassing first runner-up Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon to claim the prestigious title.
Regrettably, Nigeria's Ada Eme did not make it to the final top eight, but the spotlight remained on Pyszková as she expressed her joy at being crowned Miss World. "Being crowned Miss World is a dream come true. I am deeply honored to represent my country and the values of 'beauty with a purpose' on a global platform," Pyszková stated.
The symbolic moment unfolded as the reigning Miss World, Karoline Bielawska of Poland, handed over the crown to Pyszková, who then waved to the enthusiastic crowd at the Jio World Convention Center and embraced fellow contestants.
The event, which showcased the vibrant tapestry of India's culture, traditions, heritage, arts, and crafts, featured participants donning elaborately embroidered skirts and blouses, dancing to popular Bollywood tunes. This marked the return of the Miss World beauty pageant to India after a 28-year hiatus.
The 71st Miss World beauty pageant was hosted by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and Miss World 2013 Megan Young from the Philippines, bringing together a global audience to celebrate beauty, culture, and purpose. The glittering affair underscored the significance of beauty beyond aesthetics, embracing the values of 'beauty with a purpose' on an international stage.
