The United Arab Emirates (UAE) strongly rejected any efforts to displace Palestinians following US President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal to take over the Gaza Strip.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the UAE's foreign ministry reaffirmed its unwavering stance against any infringement on the fundamental rights of Palestinians and any actions aimed at their displacement.
Trump’s proposal, made during his visit to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, suggested that the US should take control of Gaza, level the area, and rebuild it. This proposal quickly drew widespread criticism from global leaders, including key US allies such as Britain and France.
The UAE reiterated its commitment to finding a viable political solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The UAE believes that regional stability can only be achieved through the implementation of a two-state solution.
This strong response from the UAE underscores its dedication to supporting Palestinian sovereignty and its call for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
