A protest against Israel in New York City spiraled into chaos as violent clashes broke out in Brooklyn’s Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, Borough Park.
According to Fox News, the demonstration, organized by the anti-Israel activist group Pal-Awda, saw protesters chanting “Zionists go to hell” while waving Palestinian flags. Tensions escalated, leading to multiple fights, with one person reportedly arrested, as per the New York Post.
Dramatic footage from the scene captured skirmishes erupting, a large knife lying on the ground, and police detaining an individual. It remains unclear if the weapon was used.
Protesters also chanted “How many kids did you kill today?” to the beat of a snare drum, while some aggressively flashed their middle fingers at Jewish pedestrians. Children from local yeshivas watched the chaotic scenes unfold from their school bus windows.
The Pal-Awda group claimed the protest was against the sale of stolen Palestinian land, but the demonstration quickly descended into a volatile confrontation, highlighting deepening tensions in the city.
