The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a stark warning against Israel's impending military operation in Rafah, highlighting the potential for devastating consequences.

The WHO conveyed its concerns via its official page, emphasizing the likelihood of a "bloodbath" resulting from the planned incursion into the southern border city.

With over 1.2 million individuals currently seeking refuge in Rafah, many of whom are unable to relocate elsewhere, the WHO underscored the grave humanitarian risks associated with further displacement.

The organization emphasized the potential exacerbation of overcrowding, scarcity of essential resources like food and water, and heightened vulnerability to disease outbreaks and hunger.

Amid ongoing challenges including repeated attacks and shortages of critical medical supplies and staff, the WHO highlighted the precarious state of Gaza's healthcare infrastructure.

Only a fraction of hospitals and primary healthcare centers are operational, severely limiting access to essential services.

In light of these urgent concerns, the WHO urgently called for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid across Gaza.

This plea comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains determined to launch an offensive in Rafah to dismantle remaining Hamas strongholds.
