It is a sardonic moment as two prospective corps members got killed yesterday by some bandits on their way to the NYSC orientation camp, the deceased graduates were fresh graduates of the Osun State University who are on their way to the NYSC Camp.

The incident happened along the Lokoja-Abuja expressway.

The development has been confirmed by the Public Relations officer of the University Mr Ademola Adesoji.

The school spokesman said that:

“Four of our ex-students were involved. Three of them are male and one female. Two died in the incident. But we spoke with the two that survived and monitored their movement up to the hospital.

Our Students Affairs Unit also notified the NYSC leadership and the management of the scheme responded immediately. The two that died were heading to Kaduna NYSC Orientation Camp. The four of them travelled in a vehicle they hired from Osogbo,”

It is informative to note that the 21-days orientation course is part of the mandatory One year service Scheme put together years ago by the federal government of Nigeria for graduates of higher institutions across the country.
