Abayomi Salami, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC, Ekiti State), has assured voters in the state that the election's results will be regarded favorably by all parties.

This comes right after he acknowledged the exercise's high voter turnout, which he praised.

During election monitoring of the nationwide presidential and National Assembly elections, which are currently taking place, the Commissioner provided the assurance.

Salami said all the devices the commission provided for the smooth conduct of the election are all working perfectly at the polling places his team has so far visited, adding that voters' votes would count.

He continued by saying that information reaching him from all over the state also hinted at the fact that the commission officials in charge of them were performing quite well, as was expected of them, and that areas where mistakes had been made were being quickly fixed.

He expressed his admiration for the massive voter turnout and the conduct of the INEC officials at the PU.

The Daily Post reports that there were little hitches in accessing the BVAS machine in some areas, but INEC technicians, detailed for such emergencies, were promptly called to salvage the situation, especially at Ward 10, Unit 2, St. Mango Oke-Isha Ado-Ekiti.

At Olaoluwa Grammar School, Unit 13, Ward 11, the exercise, as at the time of reporting, was going smoothly and peacefully, without any hitches.

Also, at Ward 4, Unit 1, Mobile Ajilosun, the turnout was massive and a bit rowdy, as there were arguments between some party agents, but the early arrival of the REC normalized the situation.
