David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of Living Faith Church, often known as Winners Chapel, has announced that he will not run for president in the 2023 election.

Oyedepo described running for President of Nigeria as a demotion, saying that he has asked for a worldwide influence.
He mentioned this during a leadership summit that was broadcast around the world.
Although he believes in Nigeria, he believes it is too late for him to run for the country's highest political office.
"I believe in Nigeria, and that is why I am still here, and why I am still praying for Nigeria," Oyedepo stated. But being called to become President of Nigeria would be a step down for me.
“I am called for a global impact. I saw this in 1984.
“Even the devil knows that you can’t be genuinely sold-out to serving God, and not stand out in life.”
