Tsafe town, the administrative hub of Tsafe local government area in Zamfara State, has once again come under siege as bandits conducted a brazen attack, resulting in the destruction of military vehicles and the loss of lives of two members of the state's security outfit, the Community Protection Guards (CPG).

According to a local source, Malam Usman Tsafe, the assailants, armed with sophisticated weaponry, descended upon the town in a coordinated assault. Dividing themselves into three groups, the bandits initiated their onslaught, with one faction targeting the Zamfara State College of Health Science and Technology situated within the area, as reported by Leadership.

Simultaneously, the remaining groups infiltrated the town, unleashing a barrage of gunfire to instill fear and facilitate the abduction of residents and students from the State College of Health Science and Technology.

"In the ensuing gun battle, two CPG operatives bravely lost their lives, and the bandits set ablaze two operational vehicles belonging to both the military and Zamfara CPG," revealed Malam Usman Tsafe.

However, the swift response of a joint task force comprising military, police, and CPG personnel succeeded in repelling the assailants and compelling them to retreat into the forest, albeit with gunshot wounds.

The incident underscores the persistent threat posed by banditry in Zamfara State and the challenges faced by local security forces in combating these criminal elements. As the community mourns the loss of lives and assesses the aftermath of the attack, the need for concerted efforts to address the root causes of insecurity in the region becomes increasingly urgent.
