The market is one of the main markets in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, according to Naijacrawl.

According to reports, the fire incident, which began at around two in the morning, affected about forty-five (45) stores.

The incident was confirmed to Naijacrawl by the Oyo State Fire Service.

"Our men are at Araromi Market Agodi Gate since 2:30 a.m., where they are putting out the fire caused by indiscriminate refuse burning," Akinyinka said in a phone conversation with Naijacrawl.

“The fire was suppressed at 5:00 a.m. A cooling-down operation is ongoing to suppress reignition. I'm on my way for an on-the-spot assessment.

“I cannot say specifically the number of shops now; you know it is an emergency." It began in the night. About 45 shops

Naijacrawl reports that the incident occurred a few weeks after a tanker lost control and burst into flames in Ibadan.
