The Senior Special Adviser on media and publicity to the President of Nigeria; Mallam Garba Shehu has debunked the rumour that is spreading around that the President has rescinded over 150 appointments made by the late Chief of Staff; Mallam Abba Kyari.
The presidential spokesman said the news is far from truth.
Garba Shehu made this known through a press release he made available through social media yesterday.
The statement reads in parts:
The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to media reports alleging that President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled a number of memos and appointments signed off by his former Chief of Staff. Not surprisingly, these reports have quoted unnamed sources.
There is not a grain of truth in these reports and Nigerians should please ignore the insinuations behind them.
President Buhari was duly re-elected by Nigerians in February 2019. He has not and will never cede to anyone else, that power and trust given to him by the Nigerian people.
It will be recalled that a popular daily reported on Monday that the president under the new chief of staff has cancelled over 150 appointments made by the former chief of staff.
