A truck conveying premium motor spirit PMS, rammed into the fence of Toronto hospital at upper iweka side of Onitsha and exploded. The fire initially started at the spot and within seconds traveled down to the famous ochanja market and destroyed so many shops stucked with goods and also burnt some yet to be identified people to death.

But the eye witnesses believed that there was a poor response from the men of the fire service commission in the state as they were no where to be found within the period of the fire incident. It was also reported that it was the neighboring Delta state fire service commission that later came to the rescue of the victims in the late hours of the day.

We are yet to get an official report from the Anambra state government concerning the incident.
