The 35-year-old man killed the wizard and later buried him in a shallow grave.

This was made public in a statement released by SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the police public relations officer of the state.

SP Wakil said the suspect was arrested on the 6th of December 2022, after the unfortunate incident was reported at the Tafawa Balewa Divisional Police headquarters by a 44-year-old man (name withheld) from Gongo village.

Investigation revealed that, on that fateful day, the 44-year-old man, while returning from the market, saw flames coming out from the house of the deceased who was identified as 80-year-old Sunday Saleh.

He rushed to the scene to ascertain what was happening and on arrival, he met one Haruna Ezekiel (the suspect) at the scene and discovered that he killed and burnt the said Sunday Saleh inside the house.

He (the suspect), then dug a shallow grave behind the house and buried the body of the deceased.
