The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Moses Sule, has been sacked by the state election petitions tribunal.
The election petition tribunal sitting in Jos sacked the lawmaker, who was elected on the People's Democratic Party's (PDP’s platform in the last election.
He was sacked alongside Danjuma Azi, a member representing Jos North West constituency in the assembly
The tribunal declared the former majority leaders of the house, Hon. Naanlong Daniel and Hon. Mark Na’ah, all of the APC, as winners of the March 18 elections.
The petitioner had challenged the sponsorship of Sule and Azi on the grounds that the PDP was not qualified to participate in the election for lack of party structure.
Delivering the judgment, the tribunal, led by Muhammad Tukur, said the PDP was not qualified to sponsor the respondents for the election.
He held that as the party did not have structure, “nothing can stand on nothing”.
