Peter Ahemba, the governor's senior special assistant for public affairs, has warned PDP supporters in the state not to oppose what he called the ordained mandate of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Ahemba defended Governor Sule as a ruler appointed by God in a statement made public in Lafia on Wednesday, asserting that his mandate is still in effect.
Peter dismissed the Tribunal's decision, which resulted in the removal of the Governor from office, as merely a short-term setback and insisted that the decision could not withstand legal review.
He also derided the decision, calling it a pointless academic show that would never be implemented.
“Let me assure the people of Nasarawa State that the mandate they have given to His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, to serve as the Governor for a second term is very safe and intact. Engr. A. A. Sule is God-sent and remains the Governor of Nasarawa State till 2027”, he said.
He emphasized the governor’s confidence in the judiciary and declared that the mandate given by the people of Nasarawa State remained secure.
Ahemba warned those opposing the governor, stating that they were inviting God’s wrath upon themselves.
“Those fighting the governor should know that they are inviting God’s wrath against themselves because it is God who gives leadership that has given Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule the mandate through the electorates of Nasarawa State to serve as governor at this time”.
Speaking to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Ahemba warned that the legal battle had just begun and that the future outcome could result in a sombre mood for them throughout the remaining four years of this administration.
He commended the people of Nasarawa State, particularly supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), for maintaining peace despite the tribunal’s ruling favoring the opposition party, urging them to stay calm and ensuring that the governor has instructed his legal team to appeal the tribunal judgment.
