At least four Palestinians were wounded on Sunday when an Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle on the coastal road west of Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.

Initial reports suggested a young boy had died in the attack, but medics later confirmed they had successfully resuscitated him.

According to the Israeli military, an aircraft fired on what was deemed a "suspicious vehicle" moving toward northern Gaza, outside the designated ceasefire inspection route. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) emphasized its commitment to preventing immediate threats to its soldiers, stating, “The IDF is prepared for any scenario and will take necessary action to protect its forces.”

Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect on January 19, multiple Palestinians have reportedly been killed by Israeli fire. Israel maintains that its troops only open fire when faced with potential threats, while Hamas has condemned these actions as violations of the truce.

As part of the initial phase of the ceasefire, 33 hostages—including children, women, elderly individuals, and the sick—were set for release, with 18 already freed. However, more than 60 male hostages of military age remain in captivity until a second-phase agreement is negotiated.

Negotiations for the next phase, including the release of remaining hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli troops, are set to begin by Tuesday, aiming to pave the way for a permanent end to the war in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Hamas has accused Israel of delaying the humanitarian aspects of the ceasefire, claiming that crucial medical aid, relief supplies, fuel, and reconstruction materials have yet to be allowed into Gaza as per the agreement.
