Reports confirmed by the Israel Police, security forces said the country haa apprehended the sister of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tel Sheva on suspicion of links to Hamas and involvement in promoting terrorism.
Identified as 57-year-old Zebah Abdel Salem Haniyeh, the detained individual is described as a close relative of a senior Hamas member.
Dubbed "Operation Early Dawn," the coordinated effort involved multiple departments, including the police and Shin Bet. The operation culminated in an early morning raid conducted by police, border police, IDF, and the Israel Police aerial unit, resulting in the arrest of Haniyeh.
During the raid on Haniyeh's residence, security forces reportedly seized documents, media, phones, and other incriminating evidence, suggesting her involvement in serious security offenses.
The Israel Police announced that Haniyeh is slated to appear before the Beersheba Magistrate's Court later today, where authorities will seek an extension of her detention. This development underscores the ongoing efforts by Israeli security forces to combat terrorism and dismantle networks supporting extremist activities.
