The Department of State Services (DSS) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) are working together to investigate the University of Calabar (UNICAL) sex scandal.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja by Dr. Peter Afunanya, the DSS's Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications.
According to him, the collaboration centered on the sexual misconduct allegations against a professor and the institution's former dean of the faculty of law.
Before being arrested on October 4 in Calabar pursuant to a court order, Afunanya claimed that the professor had repeatedly declined to accept invitations from the ICPC.
“The Service, following the Commission’s request and in the spirit of interagency cooperation, supported it for a successful operation.
“This is to guide public understanding of the latest developments on the matter,” he said. (NAN)
