The Inspector-General of Police, Mr.

Kayode Egbetokun, has announced the appointment of Fayoade Adegoke as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command. This redeployment was communicated through a signal signed by the Force Secretary, AIG Olanrewaju Oladimeji.

Fayoade Adegoke is set to take over the reins from Mr. Idowu Owohunwa, who has been elevated to the position of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, overseeing the Federal Criminal Investigation Department at Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), prior to his recent posting, Adegoke held the position of overseeing armament at the Force headquarters in Abuja. During his tenure in that role, he underwent a specialized course at the Nigerian Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos, Plateau State. Notably, he graduated alongside 96 distinguished Nigerians as part of the Executive Course 45.

This reshuffling within the police hierarchy reflects the ongoing efforts to optimize leadership roles and responsibilities, ensuring that qualified and experienced individuals are strategically placed to handle critical positions. As Fayoade Adegoke assumes his new role in the Lagos State Command, expectations are high for continued effective law enforcement and community safety in the region.
