In Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, a man suspected to be a serial rapist and armed robber has been lynched to death by irate residents of Apete of the city.

A gang of robbers had reportedly been terrorizing communities in Apete in the Ido Local Government Area for weeks now.

One of the suspected armed robbers was caught around 4 am on Wednesday, April 5, while on an operation in the Adagbada Arola area in Apete.

It was alleged that the suspected armed robber forcefully took mobile phones and an undisclosed amount of money from two ladies. He locked one of them inside a toilet while making moves to rape the other.

The one locked in the toilet managed to escape and alerted neighbours who then proceeded to lynch the suspect.
