The rising opposition party, Labour, has conducted a primary election to field a candidate for the postponed Enugu East senate seat.
The primary election was conducted by the LP National Vice Chairman South East, Chief Agumba Okeke, had the state Chairman, Barr Casmir Uchenna Agbo and other state executive members in attendance. Delegates were drawn from the six LGAs (77 wards) that make up the district.
The Primary was necessitated following the murder of the Labour Party (LP) Senatorial Candidate, Barr Oyibo Chukwu, days before the Presidential/Senatorial Elections.
Kelvin Chukwu is the younger brother to the slain Senatorial Candidate.
He said the family is still in shock at how their brother was murdered, and promised to fulfill his late brother’s dreams and make the Senatorial Zone proud.
