The Mali Eagles scored a 2-0 victory against Nigeria's Super Eagles in a friendly match held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Tuesday night.
El Bilal Toure netted a goal in the first half, while Kamory Doumbia secured another in the late second half, sealing Mali's win at the Grand Stade de Marrakech.
This defeat follows Nigeria's recent 2-1 victory over Ghana in another friendly match last Friday.
The loss to Mali breaks the Super Eagles' eight-game unbeaten streak against them. Prior to this match, Nigeria had not lost to Mali in eight consecutive fixtures, comprising five wins and three draws.
The last time Mali defeated the Super Eagles was in September 1975, in a friendly match that ended with a score of 4-1.
Looking ahead, the Super Eagles' next challenge will be against South Africa in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers scheduled for June.
