After acquiring new and sophisticated defence ships and surveillance, the Nigeria Navy has set a new water security record.

For over thirty years, there has always been at least a pirate attack in the first quarter of the year, but as of now in the year 2022, the waterway has been secured and there has been no record of any pirate/water way attack across the country.

Celebrating the feat on social media, the Nigeria defence writes:

Thanks to what now amounts to be one of the most sophisticated maritime surveillance security architecture in the world, there was not a single recorded piracy attack in Nigeria's territorial waters for the first time in 30 years in the first quater of 2022.
