In a recent development, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has officially designated Setonji Koshoedo as the acting National Secretary of the party.

This decision was reached by the party's National Working Committee (NWC) during a meeting held on Tuesday.

Koshoedo, who previously served as the Deputy National Secretary, will now step into the role of the National Secretary on an interim basis. This decision comes in the wake of an ongoing legal case currently before the Enugu High Court, and the move is aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of the party during these legal proceedings.

Umar Damagum, the acting National Chairman of the PDP, made the announcement following the NWC meeting. Damagum clarified that Koshoedo's appointment is a temporary measure, pending the resolution of the court case. The decision was deemed necessary to maintain the party's functionality amid the legal uncertainties.

"We decided that the Deputy National Secretary should take over in an acting capacity pending the resolution of the Court case," stated Damagum. He also called for all parties involved in the court case to adhere to the party's due process, urging a stand-down of actions during this period.

Damagum went on to highlight that conflicting court orders regarding the position of the National Secretary prompted the NWC to make this appointment. The move is seen as a strategic measure to navigate through the legal complexities and uphold the party's commitment to due process and internal stability.
