In a tumultuous turn of events, Pastor Godwin Bankole finds himself at the center of serious accusations, with claims that he married the wife of another man and allegedly took custody of his seven children.
The accuser, Mr Uduak Usanga, asserts that Bankole's actions not only raise moral concerns but also demand the return of a substantial bride price amounting to 6 million naira.
The woman at the heart of the controversy, Christiana Obot, had previously been married to her first husband, with whom she had three children. Following that union, she entered into a marriage with Mr Usanga, the accuser, and together they had four children, making a total of seven.
Mr Usanga questions the pastor's decision to marry a woman with a significant age gap and implores him to consider a younger partner. He claims to possess evidence of marriage payments and documentation related to their traditional marriage and wedding.
The aggrieved party raises concerns about whether Pastor Bankole's church doctrine permits such unions and accuses him of effectively stealing his wife and children. To compound matters, the accuser alleges that the pastor is unapologetic and is even threatening legal action through the court and police.
In response to the accusations, Pastor Godwin Bankole has made a plea to the accuser, urging him to come to his house and collect the 6 million naira in question.
This ongoing marital dispute involving a pastor has ignited controversy, prompting discussions about ethical conduct within religious communities. As tensions continue to escalate, the focal point of this complex and contentious situation remains the demand for the return of the 6 million naira bride price.
