A violent confrontation between soldiers and gunmen in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State has left numerous casualties and injuries.
The intense shootout occurred late last night in the Aba branch area, with reports confirming that several soldiers were attacked and killed by the armed group.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the conflict rapidly escalated, turning the entire vicinity into a warzone. "Some non-state actors attacked and killed some soldiers in the area yesterday," a local source explained. "The whole place is on fire, and troops have now taken over nearby communities."
The ongoing gunfire forced many residents to flee their homes, fearing for their safety. Families left in a rush, uncertain if or when they could return. "We are terrified," said one resident, who requested anonymity. "The sound of gunfire is still echoing in our ears. We don't know what will happen next. Ehime used to be a peaceful place, but now we are deeply worried."
