An ad hoc committee investigating the face-off between the Super Falcons and Officials of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has once again summoned Ibrahim Gusau, the president of the NFF.
The Chairman of the Committee, Blessing Onuh, issued the summons on Wednesday after Mr. Gusau shunned the invitation of the committee.
The committee was set up to investigate the issue of the payment of allowances to the Super Falcon team following their exploits at the World Cup in Australia.
Mohammed Sanusi, the Secretary General of THE NFF, had represented the NFF president, noting that the president could not appear because of ill health. However, the committee rejected the representation.
Ms. Onuh accused Gusau of taking the committee for granted.
“Nigerians are interested; Nigerians are watching. The girls did extremely well, and they made Nigerians proud, so we shouldn’t take this investigative hearing lightly.
“We gave an opportunity for the president of the NFF to appear before this ad hoc Committee. I will say invariably he is the one summoning us; he came up with an excuse that is not as important as what we have.”
She added that the NFF president had the “effrontery to tell his SA that he wouldn’t be able to make it. He is taking us for a ride, and we will not tolerate it.”
The NFF Secretary General was then asked to go, and the NFF President was ordered to appear on Thursday.
