Unknown persons have killed a man identified as Chidozie Chigbu in Nsirimo community, Umuahia South LGA of Abia State.



The victim’s lifeless body was discovered in the community on Wednesday night by villagers with deep machete wounds all over his head, suggesting that his attackers may have used a machete in killing him.

His corpse was seen lying face down with a pool of blood all over the scene of the suspected murder incident.

As of the time of this report, it was not yet established where the attackers came from or the exact hour they struck.

It was also not established if the late Chidozie Chigbu was having any conflict with any person or not before his gruesome murder.

But a voice from a video circulating on social media from the scene of the attack claimed that the lifeless body of Mr Chigbu was discovered by a villager who went to fetch water, adding that it was the alarm raised by the indigene that attracted other villagers to the scene.

Abia State Police Command was yet to confirm the incident.


Messages sent to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Maureen Chioma Chinaka concerning the incident was not replied as of the time of filing this report
