The victim, Miss Benisa Okoro a primary school teacher and also hunched was stabbed to death in her sleep by her nephew Mr Eric ifeanyi Okoro aged 28. Eric is the son of the victims brother that resides in ondo state, but was sent back to the village some years back because of his promiscuous and violent life in ondo of which it was reported that the culprit has attacked his own father so many times before being bundled back to the village. His kindhearted aunt took up the responsibility of taking care of the young man.

But on that faithful night, it was reported that benisa came back from church program late in the night and discovered that her nephew isn't around so she kept his dinner for him and went to bed. But the young man came back and took up a knife and went straight to where her aunt is sleeping and stabbed her multiple times on the chest till she died. He then took up the phone and called his father in far away ondo state and told him that he has killed his aunt and that he is coming next for him. His dad couldn't believe what he heard as he thought the son might be drunk and was talking under the influence of alcohol. But the next morning the boy went to the mortuary and asked them to come and help carry the corpse of her aunt that died in the night. When they arrived the compound, they became suspicious with the ugly scene and alerted the neighbors. The young man was interrogated and he admitted that he killed the aunt. He was later handed over to the police and the community head also banished him from the community.
