Following the conclusion of semi-final fixtures on Wednesday, the four top scorers at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup belonged to teams that had been knocked out of the tournament.
The Daily Post recalls that England defeated Australia 3-1 to book their place in the final, where they will face Spain, who defeated Sweden 2-1 on Tuesday.
Japan’s Hinata Miyazawa is presently the top scorer in the Women’s World Cup with five goals to her name.
Miyazawa is ahead of the Netherlands’ Jill Roord, Germany’s Alexandra Popp, France’s Kadidiatou Diani, and Sweden’s Amanda Ilestedt on the goal chart.
