After being left out of Brazil's 2022 FIFA World Cup roster, Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes posted a mysterious response.
Various Premier League stars were included in the 26-man squad that Brazil manager Tite released on Monday for Qatar.
Richarlison of Everton, Thiago Silva of Chelsea, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal were among the Premier League players who made the squad; Roberto Firmino of Liverpool was left off.
But Magalhaes was left out of the squad despite his impressive performances so far this season, which have pushed Arsenal to the top of the English Premier League table.
The 24-year-old, who is yet to make his senior Brazil debut, missed out to Chelsea’s Thiago Silva, Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos, Real Madrid’s Eder Militao, and Juventus’ Bremer.
However, while Magalhaes is yet to directly comment on the matter, the center-back did respond to a fan on his Instagram story shortly after the squad was announced.
Reposting a message that read: “I saw you grow up playing football, brother. "You are the pride of our neighborhood.” Magalhaes added a heart and fist-bump emoji to the caption.
Magalhaes has also liked a number of his teammates’ posts on social media celebrating their own call-ups, including that of Jesus, who posted a video montage of his highlights along with the captain's song "Inexplicable."
