Despite the Barcelona telling Luis Suarez that he can leave the Nou Camp on a free transfer this summer as the club look to embark on a new era after reaching crisis point, the club have now failed to accept a swap deal with the Italian giant; Juventus.

Rreport have it that Barca rejected the offer last week from Juventus for a swap deal involving Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain.

It is thought that Uruguay international Suarez has been told that he can leave the Nou Camp this summer on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old is coming to the end of his career and has been singled out as one of the old guard who’s time with the Catalans is up.

Suarez was one of the players criticised for Barca’s humiliating 8-2 reverse to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, one of the worst results in the club’s history.

Recent reports from Italy have suggested that Juventus have made enquiries about signed the forward.

The Old Lady already have Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, and Higuain in attack, but see Suarez as a useful addition.

And according to Italian football journalist Tancredi Palmeri , Juve actually offered Higuain to Barcelona last week in a swap deal to get him.

But the approach for the former Liverpool man was refused by the Spaniards, he says.

It has been suggested elsewhere that Juve’s top target is Roma forward Edin Dzeko but they would consider Suarez if they failed to land the Bosnian.

Suarez has reportedly vowed not to make life difficult for Barcelona if he is to leave.

Yet he has already voiced his anger at how the club is dealing with his future.

Suarez told El Pais last week: "There is talk of some names that the president gave, of changes that can be made, but nobody told me that they want to do without me.

"If this is the desire of the club, it would be good if the person in charge who chooses speaks directly to me.

"Better so than filter if I am one of those who want them to leave. It remains to be seen.

"I also want the best for the club and my idea today is to continue, but if the club decides that I am expendable, I have no problem talking to those who decide."
