Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika is expected to make a comeback for Club Brugge in their final game of 2024.
The highly-anticipated fixture sees Brugge hosting Westerlo on Boxing Day, with fans eager to see the talented midfielder back in action.
Onyedika was absent during Brugge's thrilling 2-2 draw against Union St. Gilloise last weekend due to a minor injury. Speaking on the issue, Brugge head coach Nicky Hayen revealed, “Onyedika had pain in the adductors. It happened just before the end of the last training session.”
Despite the setback, there’s optimism about his return. “We will see. It is possible that he will play again on Thursday,” Hayen added.
Club Brugge currently sits second on the league table with 38 points, trailing leaders Genk by just two points. Onyedika’s return could provide the extra spark needed as the team looks to end the year on a high note.
Fans and analysts alike will be keeping an eye on the midfielder’s performance as Brugge aims to close the gap at the top of the league standings.
