Tolu Arokodare, a forward from Nigeria, has been signed by Belgian Pro League team KRC Genk.
Arokodare transferred from Amiens SC of the French Ligue 2 to the Smurfs.
The 22-year-old steps in as a direct replacement for fellow countryman Paul Onuachu, who left for Premier League club Southampton on the final day of the transfer window.
The striker previously competed for FC Köln in the Bundesliga and Valmiera in Latvia.
When the move was finished, Arokodare exclaimed with joy.
“I am very happy to be in Geneva. At this point in my career, I can’t imagine a better club.
“Together with the team, I hope to continue the good results of the first half of the season and to win prizes." Paul leaves big shoes to fill. "But I am determined to give 100% for this great club,” he told the club’s official website.
