Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was left "shocked" by Graham Potter’s decision to remove him from the Blues' Champions League squad.
The Gabonese international now fears he is being forced out of Stamford Bridge.
The Blues confirmed their updated 25-man Champions League squad on Friday afternoon, adding the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Joao Felix.
But Aubameyang was surprisingly the casualty as the Blues were required to remove a player to register the three new players.
The Telegraph reports that the 33-year-old Gabonese was stunned and disappointed by his club’s decision, and the player’s camp is convinced he is being forced out.
Aubameyang was brought in by his former boss, Thomas Tuchel, last summer to help out the Blues’ attack following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on loan.
The Telegraph’s report claims Aubameyang’s axe is not the result of any behavioral issues, and he has been training diligently despite his struggles for goals.
Aubameyang’s camp feels Chelsea is putting the onus on him to seek an exit, and that feeling will only have been compounded when he was left out of Friday night’s squad to face Fulham at Stamford Bridge.
