Umar Sadiq has received Antonio Rudiger's support in his effort to bounce back from his injury setback.
On Monday, a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament was discovered in the Real Sociedad forward.
The first half of Sunday night's 2-1 loss to Getafe for Real Sociedad saw the Nigerian international substituted.
The 25-year-old will now likely miss the remainder of the 2022–2023 season because of his eight–month absence.
Rudiger, who was Sadiq’s teammate during their time at Serie A club AS Roma, has wished his old friend a quick recovery from the injury.
“Stay strong my brother, the Almighty knows why. Come back stronger,” Rudiger posted on Instagram.
Sadiq joined Real Sociedad from Almeria on transfer deadline day.
He scored on his debut for the white and blue against Atletico Madrid.
