After a life with Juventus, where he spent 17 seasons, Giorgio Chiellini will play for Los Angeles FC, a Major League Soccer team that also includes Carlos Vela, an old acquaintance of European football.

He was not a one-club man, but he might as well have been. A single season, 561 games, and a lifetime dedicated to a single team well deserves worldwide recognition. Giorgio Chiellini said farewell in 2022 to Juventus, where he has left an indelible mark both on and off the pitch. In addition to his commitment on the pitch, as leader of the back line every season, his friendly and approachable personality with the fans and press has even endeared him to his rivals.

The Italian will play for Los Angeles FC, who announced his signing after weeks of reports, leaks, and speculation. The US club simply shared Chiellini’s own Twitter post, in which he is already wearing a jersey and cap of his new club.

It will be the first time that a defender will cross the pond, and thus begins a new journey in Major League Soccer, the biggest competition in the United States. It has grown exponentially, especially because of the stars who have decided, sooner or later, to try the so-called "American dream" in the last decade.

Insigne, Napoli’s star, is a clear example. Chiellini will be joined by an old acquaintance of European football, Carlos Vela, who excelled at Real Sociedad and Arsenal. The Mexican is the team’s main star and will now have the opportunity to share a dressing room with a legendary player who lifted the last edition of the EUROs in 2021 with the Italian national team.

Leadership, hierarchy, and experience. The 'Azzurri’ international will land in one of the most charismatic cities in the world to bring his charisma to the pitch. Chiellini promises, at 37 years of age, to prove that he is ready to arrive at Los Angeles FC to lift the two most important titles, the MLS and the Concachampions.
