Stan Collymore, a former Liverpool player, has advised Todd Boehly not to allow Chelsea to sign Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain.
Should Boehly bring Neymar to Stamford Bridge, Collymore predicts that he will eventually become another Cristiano Ronaldo.
This summer, Chelsea has been mentioned in connection with the Brazilian international.
Boehly reportedly has conversations with Neymar's entourage and is interested in signing the forward.
However, Collymore asserted that Chelsea does not require Neymar, a former Barcelona player, in his column for Caught Offside.
"This playboy lifestyle has always hung over Neymar," he said, "so my message to a Premier League club would be to be careful because it could turn out to be another Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United situation."
“Neither Manchester club should take him, and Chelsea, who appear to be the club most heavily linked (90 minutes), definitely don’t need him.”
He continued, “I think Neymar is a fantastic player, but joining Chelsea would be an awful move in my opinion because the Blues’ project is to build for the future, and if Neymar were to come to Stamford Bridge, you could just imagine much of Graham Potter’s time in front of the media would be taken up by questions on the Brazilian.”
Neymar’s current contract with PSG will expire in 2025.
The 31-year-old joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017.
