The Liverpool sensation Harvey Elliott has been compared to David Beckham, an England legend, by European football expert Andy Brassell.
Brassell pointed out that Beckham's impressive showings after joining Real Madrid and Eliott's outstanding performances for struggling Liverpool are comparable.
Eliott has made eight appearances for the Reds so far this season, which is a great start.
Despite heavy criticism this season for Liverpool's midfield, the young Elliott has continued to impress.
And Brassell noted that there is a reason for the young midfielder's impressive performance this season.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Brassell said: “The fact that Harvey Elliott stands out now, of course, it’s a lot to do with his excellent form, but it’s also because he reminds me of David Beckham playing in the midfield of the melted Galacticos in 2003/04."
He’s just so much faster than everyone else.
Beckham was like a flying ant in a forest of sloths, really.
“Not knocking the quality of the players around him, but no one did anywhere near as much running as him in that season.”
