Alex Iwobi has assured fans that the Super Eagles are committed to giving their all to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite Nigeria's strong football pedigree, the team has had a challenging start to the qualification campaign.

The three-time African champions currently sit winless in Group C after four matches, managing only three points. This disappointing start places the West Africans at risk of missing out on back-to-back World Cups following their absence from Qatar 2022.

Speaking to the BBC, Iwobi emphasized the team’s determination to rise to the challenge.

“Every player dreams of playing at the World Cup—it’s the biggest and best competition in the world,” Iwobi said. “We understand the difficulty of qualifying in Africa because every match feels like a battle. But we’re ready to fight and give it our all. The hunger and motivation are there.”

With the stakes higher than ever, the Super Eagles know they must deliver in their remaining games to reignite their World Cup hopes. Fans across Nigeria will be hoping that Iwobi and his teammates can turn things around and restore the nation’s pride on the global stage.
