Alex Iwobi has secured the second spot on the list of Nigerians with the most Premier League appearances after Fulham's narrow 3-2 loss to West Ham United on Tuesday night.
The 28-year-old midfielder now boasts an impressive 274 Premier League appearances, surpassing the legendary Nwankwo Kanu, who he was previously tied with. Kanu, a former Arsenal, Portsmouth, and West Bromwich Albion forward, now holds the third position on the list.
Leading the chart is Shola Ameobi, the former Newcastle United striker, with a record-setting 293 Premier League appearances.
Iwobi made his Premier League debut back in October 2015 while playing for Arsenal. During his time with the Gunners, he featured in 100 league matches before transferring to Everton, where he added another 123 appearances to his tally.
Now representing Fulham, Iwobi continues to solidify his legacy as one of Nigeria’s finest exports in the English top flight.
