Jamie O'Hara, a former star for Tottenham, has offered some explanations as to why Arsenal might not end up winning the Premier League championship this year.
After defeating Leeds United 1-0 in Week 11 of the Premier League, the Gunners drew 1-1 with Southampton in Week 12 and lost 2-0 to PSV Eindhoven on Thursday in the Europa League.
These outcomes, according to O'Hara, indicate Mikel Arteta's team may find it difficult to continue their title defense in the English top division while competing in the Europa League.
Arsenal's loss to the Dutch team was only their second defeat of the year, and a draw would have allowed the north London team to win their group.
“It just shows the weakness in Arsenal in terms of the squad,” he told talkSPORT.
But as the season progresses, the games come thick and fast, and all of a sudden tiredness is going to set in, you might pick up an injury here and there, and then you’ve got to play a different team, different players, different squad, and they will struggle.”
