Tuesday 31st of July 2018 was not an impressive day for the 23 times Grand Slam champion; Serena Williams has she suffered an early exist in the on going Mubadala Silicon Valley classic yesterday night in San Jose where Johanna Konta who captured her first WTA title two years ago at Stanford beats her by 6-1,6-0.
After the match which ended at 52nd minute, Williams can but to grab her gear and headed off the court with her fans giving her an encouraging cheer up. In her post match interview, Kanta acknowledged the fact that playing with Williams is one of the best moments in her career and that Williams obviously was not playing her best level. She said " I might have been better on the day but it's still a humbling experience to be out there with her".
In Serena Williams post match interview, she said that "I know I can play a zillion times better so that kind of helps out, too. I have so many things on my mind; I don't have time to be shocked about a loss that clearly wasn't at my best right now, " Williams said. "When I was out there, was fighting. That's the only thing I can say. I wasn't just like giving it away and I was moving a lot better. So I'm just trying to take the positives out of it."
Following her loss in the Wimbledon final to Kerber, she said she had proved to herself that she could still compete to win Grand slams. Williams will be in the next Grand slam with the primary aim of achieving the most Grand slam with 24.
