Everton has terminated Frank Lampard's employment, making him the team's new manager.

The Everton board made a final decision regarding the Englishman's future at the club on Monday, following a string of subpar performances under his leadership. The British football star was fired as a result.

Since they have only 15 points after 20 games played and are currently in the relegation zone in 19th place in the Premier League, Everton is fighting for its survival.

They have only won three games this season and have dropped 11 contests.

After 357 days in charge of the team, Lampard received his fate during a phone call from Everton's largest shareholder, Farhad Moshiri.

After Everton's 2-0 defeat to West Ham the previous day, rumors of Lampard's dismissal began to circulate on Sunday. Lampard was reportedly in a meeting with Moshiri, chairman Bill Kenwright, and director of football Kevin Thelwell.

As a result of the club's poor performance this season, Everton supporters had also called for his dismissal, which seemed inevitable. This added to the pressure on the club's management.
