Barcelona delivered a dominant 4-1 victory over Sevilla on Sunday in La Liga, even after playing much of the second half with 10 men.
Robert Lewandowski wasted no time, firing Barca ahead in the 7th minute. However, Sevilla responded immediately, as Ruben Vargas capitalized on a swift counterattack to equalize just a minute later.
Super-sub Fermin López restored Barcelona’s lead just two minutes after the break, and Raphinha extended the advantage with a stunning long-range strike.
The momentum took a hit when López saw a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Djibril Sow, reducing Barcelona to 10 men in the 50th minute. But that didn't stop Hansi Flick’s men from sealing the win, as Eric Garcia headed home in the 89th minute.
With this victory, Barcelona climbed to 48 points, sitting third in La Liga—just one point behind second-placed Atletico Madrid and two behind leaders Real Madrid, who played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
