If Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Manchester United during the January transfer window, according to The Sun, manager Erik ten Hag could receive up to £100 million to sign players.
This summer, United spent £225 million on new acquisitions, including Casemiro from Real Madrid, Antony and Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.
Ten Hag will receive £70 million for transfers during the winter transfer window, but if Ronaldo leaves, this sum could rise to £100 million.
The 37-year-old is still intent on leaving Old Trafford and has been linked with numerous clubs during the summer.
With Ronaldo earning £450,000 a week, his departure would afford the Red Devils an extra £30m to invest in the side.
Ten Hag could reignite his interest in Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong after a deal collapsed this summer.
The 25-year-old Netherlands midfielder’s future remains uncertain at Camp Nou, as he has started only two games under Xavi Hernandez in LaLiga this season.
